Sweetbay magnolia seeds

Sweetbay magnolia is a relatively small evergreen tree native to the lowlands and swamps of the Atlantic coastal plain of the eastern US. In colder regions it will lose some of its leaves during winter while in warmer climates it is truly evergreen. Our seed was collected by our friend Mark in PA. These seeds require a warm stratification followed by a cold stratification. These seed have been stored outdoors this fall to begin the warmer stratification. We recommend either fall sowing or artificial cold stratification for 60-90 days. Each pack comes with 50 seeds.
